Stephen Steve Hunnewell

Special Projects for Novetta, Inc’s Open Source & Media Analytics Services

Steve directs and oversees strategic client engagement and long-range goal planning functions for Novetta’s Open Source/Publicly Available Information (PAI) and Media Analytics offerings. Prior positions with Novetta include standing up the Europe and Africa Media Analytic operations in Stuttgart, Germany and Senior Project Leader for Special Operations Forces (SOF) based in Southern Pines, NC. Prior to Novetta Steve served as Strategic Advisor on NATO’s Counterinsurgency Advisory & Assistance Team (CAAT) in Afghanistan; DoD Liaison to the UK Foreign Commonwealth Office (FCO) & Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (GIRoA) for Afghan Reconciliation and Reintegration. Steve’s military service includes both conventional U.S. Army Infantry and Special Operations assignments. Steve’s public and private sector assignments have led to solving international challenges from Afghanistan’s restive Helmand and Kunar provinces to NATO headquarters in Brussels, Belgium to Southeast Asia. To assist his international engagement Steve speaks Pashto and German.

Steve has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and an MBA from the Olin Graduate School of Management at Babson College.

Steve is a former MIT Innovation Initiative Corporate Mentor for the Tech-for-Truth Hackathon; Mentor to Babson College’s Business Analytics Club; and has presented on Disinformation at various forums to include the NATO Information & Communicators Conference (NATO) and the Stanford Research Institute (SRI).
